Website Privacy Policy

MiraMar Family Dental · Effective date: June 17, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how MiraMar Family Dental (“MiraMar Family Dental,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website at https://miramarfamilydental.com (the “Site”), contact us online, or sign up to receive text messages from us.

Your medical information is handled separately. Health information you share with us as a patient is protected under HIPAA and is described in our Notice of Privacy Practices, not by this Website Privacy Policy.

Information we collect

Information you provide to us

We collect information you choose to give us, such as when you fill out a contact or appointment-request form, leave a comment, sign up for text messages, or email or call us. This may include your name, email address, mobile phone number, the reason for your visit, and any other details you include in your message.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain information about your device and how you use the Site, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, referring pages, and the dates and times of your visits. This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies (described below).

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the Site, we collect the data shown in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and browser user-agent string to help with spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to check whether you are using it; the Gravatar privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the Site, please avoid uploading images that contain embedded location data (EXIF GPS), because visitors can download and extract that location data from images on the Site.

Cookies and tracking technologies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use them to remember your preferences, keep the Site secure, and understand how the Site is used.

  • If you leave a comment, you can choose to save your name, email address, and website in cookies for your convenience so you don’t have to re-enter them next time. These cookies last for one year.
  • If you have an account and log in, we set a temporary cookie to check whether your browser accepts cookies; it contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
  • When you log in, we also set cookies to save your login information and display choices. Login cookies last two days and display-option cookies last one year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login persists for two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies.
  • If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie storing only the article ID is saved and expires after one day.

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Some features of the Site may not work properly if cookies are disabled.

Analytics and third-party tools

We use third-party services to help us operate, measure, and promote the Site. These providers may set their own cookies or collect usage information subject to their own privacy policies:

  • Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager — to understand how visitors use the Site and to improve it.
  • Meta / Facebook tools — for domain verification and to measure and improve our social media presence.
  • Google Maps — to display our location.
  • WhatsApp — if you choose to contact us through the WhatsApp link, your message is handled under WhatsApp’s privacy policy.

Embedded content from other websites

Pages on this Site may include embedded content (for example, videos, images, or articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if you had visited that other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Mobile and text message (SMS) communications

When you provide your mobile phone number to us — for example, through a form on this Site, when booking an appointment, or in person — we collect your phone number and your consent and preferences for receiving text messages (SMS). We use this information to send appointment reminders, confirmations, account and billing messages, and, where you have opted in, informational or promotional messages about our services.

You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message, and you can reply HELP for assistance. Message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in information. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We may share this information only with trusted service providers who help us operate our text messaging program on our behalf, and only as needed to provide those services, or when required by law.

How we use your information

  • To respond to your inquiries and appointment requests and to communicate with you.
  • To provide, operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site.
  • To send the text messages and other communications you have asked to receive.
  • To detect and prevent spam, fraud, and abuse.
  • To comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers. With trusted vendors who perform services on our behalf (such as website hosting, analytics, and text-message delivery), only as needed to provide those services.
  • Legal and safety. When required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of MiraMar Family Dental, our patients, or others.
  • Password resets. If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

As stated above, we never share mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes.

How long we keep your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely so that we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. For users who register on the Site (if any), we store the personal information they provide in their user profile; these users can view, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except their username). Site administrators can also view and edit that information. We otherwise keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law.

How we protect your data

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your privacy rights

If you have an account or have left comments on the Site, you may request an export file of the personal data we hold about you, and you may request that we erase that data. This does not include data we must retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to:

  • Confirm whether we process your personal information and request access to it;
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information;
  • Request deletion of your personal information;
  • Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and of targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal information.

Texas residents have these rights under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, and residents of California and other states may have similar rights under their state laws. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

Children’s privacy

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Site. If you believe a child has provided us personal information through the Site, please contact us so we can delete it.

Links to other websites

The Site may contain links to websites we do not operate. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page and post the updated policy here. Your continued use of the Site after we post changes means you accept the updated policy.
